
Nelson Jr Enano
Nelson Jr Enano works in the academe and has been conducting research in the area of energy engineering and policy since 2009. He is the director of the Center for Renewable Energy and Appropriate Technologies (CREATE) of the Ateneo de Davao University in the years 2011 to 2013 and then back in 2018 up to present. He also acts as the consortium chair of the Mindanao Renewable Energy R&D Center (MREC), a niche center for R&D in the regions (NICER) funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) with focused research on Ocean Renewable Energy (ORE) and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP). MREC is a consortium of universities and research institutes across Mindanao with research agenda on emerging renewable energy technologies and their contextualization to the socio-physical landscape of Mindanao, Philippines.
Nelson has an MSc degree in Energy Engineering and Policy from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. He has pursued his PhD study in renewable energy integration first at the University College London (2013-2015) and then at the University of New South Wales, Australia (2015-2018). He has been affiliated with various research institutes on energy systems abroad such as the UCL International Energy Policy Institute in Adelaide and the UNSW Center for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) in Sydney, Australia. In his stint at Delft, he acted as the managing editor of the Networked Industries Quarterly, a joint publication of the EPF Lausanne, Switzerland and TU Delft, Netherlands, which conduct analyses on network regulations in the sectors of energy, telecom, transport, and water. At present, he also has been acting as a regular reviewer for the International Journal of Renewable Energy.
